How do I make a booking?
Check out our website – you’ll definitely love what we’ve got. Once you’re convinced, just head to the “book” button and fill out the form with the requested details.
Once your request is validated, we’ll send you the payment details, and you’ll have 48 hours to make the payments. During that time, the room you’ve chosen will be blocked just for you.
You’ll also get access to your internal area, where you can fill out all the information we need.
If you want to chat with the Cotown team, you can email us at book@cotown.com. We’re here for anything you need!
What payments do I have to make?
To make the reservation, you’ll need to pay the membership fee and the security deposit.
If your country is on the European Commission’s list related to strategic deficiencies in AML/CFT or has issues with currency transfers (such as Egypt, Libya, and Turkey), you’ll be asked for an additional deposit as a precaution.
The security deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay, as long as there is no damage caused by misuse of the facilities in your awesome place.
Can I cancel my booking after payment?
If for any reason you need to cancel your reservation, you can do so up to one month before your contract date. Just keep in mind that you’ll lose the amount paid for the membership fee.
Cancellations made less than one month in advance will result in the total loss of the amount paid.
What payment methods can I use?
You can pay by credit card
Direct debit in case you have a European bank account
I don't have a Spanish bank account. How can I create one so that payments can be direct debited?
Our mates at Revolut are on top of it. Now you can create a bank account in a matter of 5 minutes.
Does the guarantee apply to the monthly rent?
We know that in the midst of all the payments and moves, doubt can creep in. But quick heads up: the guarantee is not your rent for the month. It is not a payment for use, but a guarantee that we ask you for in advance. It’s just a “just in case” that we keep and return to you at the end. The monthly rent, on the other hand, is the monthly payment for the use of the property.
*Remember that the guarantee and the rent are different and cannot be substituted for each other.
Preparation for the trip and arrival at Vanguard
What appliances and furnishings does the flat have, and what should I pack in my bags?
Our flats are fully equipped.
After all, you will be in your own home.
The rooms have a set of courtesy bedding (duvet, pillow, sheets and towels).
The kitchens are also fully equipped (we were advised by Masterchef).
In short, if you bring a full suitcase it is because you want to.
Where do I pick up my keys?
We’ve got a few options for you to choose from, so you can pick the one you like best:
We can meet you directly at the apartment, show you to your awesome place, and walk you through everything you need to know (additional cost applies).
We will give you the keys at the office or in the way we will indicate you before your arrival.
If you’re arriving outside business hours, on holidays, or over the weekend, there are special conditions.
*Before your arrival, we’ll email you with all the available options so you can choose the one that suits you best.
When do I have to pay for the first month of my stay?
The first month of stay is paid between the 1st and 5th of each month.
What happens if I can’t arrive on the planned date?
We know plans can change sometimes, whether it’s for personal reasons, forgetting to buy your ticket, or delays with visas. If this happens and you want to keep your spot, you’ll need to pay the rent. If you don’t, the company reserves the right to cancel your reservation.

Well, your flatmates will be sad, but you will only have to pay 100€ for the change.

Your guests are welcome, but they are not allowed to stay overnight. To avoid disturbing other colleagues, make sure that they leave before 10 p.m. And remember, always check with your colleagues before inviting friends or family.
What if there’s an issue in my flat?
If any issues come up, reach out to our customer service department, and our maintenance team will take care of it within a reasonable timeframe. If the damage is due to misuse of the facilities, the responsible person will need to cover the repair costs.
Who’s in charge of cleaning?
Since we said goodbye to Mary Poppins, Vanguard Student Housing will take care of the regular cleaning of your apartment's common areas.
Remember, you’re responsible for keeping things tidy at home and making sure the kitchen and utensils stay clean.
You will also be in charge of the laundry and washing your own clothes, sheets and towels, for which you have a washing machine and dryer at your disposal inside your apartment at no extra cost.
