If you are a student and you will be in Spain for less than 6 months, you don’t need to open a Spanish bank account. However, if you are a digital nomad, you have to open an account to receive your salary. With this in mind, we recommend that you open one. It doesn’t take up much of your time and you will have more comfort in your daily life. To open the account you must be resident in Spain. You cannot do it before you arrive. The documentation to open a bank account in Spain is quite simple: - Spanish DNI or NIE (if you don’t have it, you must present your passport or NIE valid in your country). - Reason why you need the bank account. Specify whether you are a student or a worker. - Home address. - Depending on the bank, you may need the employment contract or the last pay slip. - It’s not much of a hassle, is it? We recommend REVOLUT so you can open your account in a jiffy. Seriously, in less than 5 minutes you will have it done. Moreover, it will be super easy for you to pay, even in a currency other than the euro. Come on, don’t think twice. **Do the census** If you are going to be in Valencia for more than 90 days it is HIGHLY recommended that you register in the city.
